The Two Pillars of Who We Become

Throughout my life, I could never really differentiate between the roles of a mother and a teacher. To me, both have always been symbols of selfless giving, unconditional care, and guidance. In Hindu mythology, whoever gives you something precious is revered as “Maa”—the mother. The earth gives us food, so we call her Dharti Maa; the cow gives us milk, so she is Gau Maa. And a teacher? A teacher gives us something far greater—knowledge, wisdom, character, confidence, and direction—often giving more than what they themselves possess. A true teacher, therefore, carries the very essence of a mother: nurturing, guiding, correcting, encouraging, and helping us become who we are meant to be. Whatever I am today, I owe it to the love and sacrifices of my mother and the guidance and teachings of my teachers. Their contributions can never truly be repaid. May Allah bless all mothers and teachers who have touched our lives, and may the souls of those who have passed away rest in eternal peace. Aameen! ghl-caption ghl-caption
