Title: Modesty of the Soul

There are things we feel ashamed to let people see. We become aware of a blemish on our clothing, a flaw in our appearance, or anything else that could make us feel embarrassed in front of other people. However, there are times when we forget about what Allah sees while being so cautious about what people see. Real modesty is not only about keeping our outward appearance clean; it is also about keeping our hearts clean. A person may hide a stain from the eyes of people, but nothing can be hidden from the One who knows what is within us. Therefore, we ought to be concerned about protecting our hearts from resentment, jealousy, resentment, pride, dishonesty, resentment, and sins in the same way that we are concerned about keeping our clothes free of stains. Because Allah sees the heart while people only see the outside.
